Meet the crew:

Founder, Chief Instructor, and Full-Time Waterman

Leo

Leo is the driving force behind High-Voltage Surf Adventures—and a true legend in the water. With over 40 years of experience across surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and ocean life, he brings a lifetime of dedication and energy to every
guest who walks through the door. Born in Sweden and raised between the islands of the Caribbean, Antigua, Hawaii,
and Maui, Leo started surfing at just four years old and never looked back. After completing his schooling in the United Kingdom, he dove headfirst into life as a professional windsurfer—riding some of the biggest breaks in the world, including the infamous Jaws in Maui. In 2001, Leo founded the very first High-Voltage Surf School at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Antigua, where he launched Antigua’s first kitesurfing school, alongside his windsurfing and surf programs. But Leo’s impact didn’t stop at watersports—he
also became a swimming instructor for local children, teaching over 500 Antiguans how to swim and helping to build a deeper, safer relationship with the ocean in the local community.
A former member of the winning Antigua team in the Hiho Windsurfing Challenge in BVI’s (1999) and a lifelong ocean explorer, Leo is not only a waterman—he’s a yachtsman, mentor, coach, and the kind of instructor who takes his students seriously while keeping the vibe electric.
Whether he’s guiding beginners through their first paddle out or sharing advanced tips with seasoned riders, Leo brings patience, precision, and presence to every session.

Fun Fact:
Leo’s latest passion project? Becoming a serious surfskate and skateboard accomplice in his so-called old age. Turns out, you can teach a lifelong surfer new tricks—especially if there’s wheels, concrete, and flow involved.

With Leo, you’re not just learning to surf. You’re stepping into a lifestyle built on passion, purpose, and pure high-voltage energy.

Anastasiya

– Doesn’t smile often, but when she does, a volcano erupts somewhere
– Has fixed more emotional meltdowns than surfboards
– Doesn’t believe in bad waves — only weak minds
Quote:
“In Siberia, we surf snow. This is vacation.”

• The Ice Queen with a Heart of Fire:
She won’t hug you — but she’ll silently solve your life problems while boiling
potatoes.
• Emotionally Available… Once a Year:
Her idea of encouragement: “Get up. You’re not dying. Yet.”
• The One Everyone’s a Bit Afraid Of, But Totally Trusts:
She won’t speak for 3 days, then give the best advice of your life.
• Anna’s Therapy Style:
1 part silence, 1 part squatting in wetsuit, 3 parts hard love.

Chief of Vibes | Resident Chaos Coordinator

Martha

with surfing, the island, and the people. Returned in 2024 for VIP Week, made
lifelong friends, and casually asked if they were hiring. (They were. Oops.)
Now living the dream working at High Voltage, mixing surf stoke with caffeine and
controlled chaos. Started surfing on a wobbly softboard, now cruising on a
hardboard—progress is happening, vibes are vibing.
Fun facts: loses things she never touched, believes coffee is hydration, and once
surfed at 6am and won’t let it go.
